Precious truth

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ with all my heart! I have learned so much since losing our little Matthew. This last Sunday was a Joseph Smith lesson. The title is "Words of Hope and Consolation at the Time of Death" The words were truly comforting. I'm so grateful the Lord has given us revelation to help us in these last days.
These are some of the things I learned about the resurrection of children:
"A question may be asked- 'Will mothers have their children in eternity?' Yes! Yes! Mothers, you shall have your children, for they shall have eternal life, for their debt is paid."
"Children...must rise just as they died; we can there hail our lovely infants with the same glory- the same loveliness in the celestial glory."
And, Joseph F. Smith said, "Joseph Smith taught the doctrine that the infant child that was laid away in death would come up in the resurrection as a child; and, pointing to the mother of a liifeless child, he said to her: 'You will have the joy, the pleasure and satisfaction of nurturing this child, after its resurrection, until it reaches the full stature of its spirit.'..."
These words have brought me such joy since I read them! I know that I will have my little Matthew again and be able to raise him until he reaches the full stature of his spirit, also! I hope for the same joy for everyone that reads and studies the gospel.

Heather, you are so amazing. I was thinking about you and your family during the entire lesson on Sunday. It's very comforting to me to know that the Prophet Joseph's words are truly revelation from God, but also that he was a father who himself had lost children. How much more powerful are words of comfort and consolation when the speaker has also, "been there, done that." We love you guys.

Heather, you have such an adorable family! We were heartbroken when we heard of your loss last year, especially because we experienced the same thing just shortly before. The loss of a child is so difficult yet it is amazing how the Lord strengthens us and every now and then sends the messages we need to hear to continue to comfort us. I was so glad to hear that you had such great support around you - it is hard when others don't understand and don't know how to help. Hope you don't mind, but we'll keep up on you guys through your blog!
