Kicked it!

This is really quick, but I just wanted to report that Tommy's speech teacher at school says she detects NO Apraxia of Speech in him at all! Phew! After a year of hard work and sometimes heart wrenching therapy sessions, he is officially a talker! This really makes my heart warm... are we out of the woods yet? No, not hardly. He still has some disabilities (that are yet to be determined) that still have made it difficult to understand certain concepts, plus he's still catching up socially after not being able to talk to peers for the first 4 years of his life. The little sweetie! He's made so much progress this year..... we're hoping for another awesome year to come!

We are so proud of you, Tommy! We love you!

Yeah Tommy! He is such a cutie. We need to get "the boys" together soon. I've never posted any video on my blog, but I will get it figured out soon and have Parker give a shout out to Tommy.

Way to go Tommy! And Mom too! Wow, that is so great. Heather, you have worked so hard with him and your diligence is paying off. You are such a great mom. Let's go celebrate!

Lucky for Tommy not having Apraxia, because my little 5 yr old does. We have been in therapy for 2+ long yrs. Besides therapy through the district we do our own therapy through a speech therapist. My little guy has made so much progress in the last yr and hopefully will make a lot more before kindergarten in the fall. It has been a long road for all of us involved. He is so tired of doing therapy and puts up a fight when we do it at home.
My older boys were late talkers so I just thought he was the same and he wasn't. I had my baby tested at 18 months and got he into some developmental therapy and now speech therapy one time a month. He is two now and is my earliest talker. They have told me it is hereditary and runs in the male gene. I agree one hundred percent!! Atleast at our house.

Good luck,

Emily

That is great news. He is one lucky little guy to have such a caring and concerned mom. I am sure that has made all the difference. Keep up the good work!

Yeah- that is so great! It's great to see progress. Im going to be coming up there the last week of Feb. and I would love to see you guys! Beau keeps asking to play with Tommy. So let me know what would work for you. I tried to do a video of Beau talking and he gets a little camera shy. Luke ended up talking more and I don't think he is a very good example! Anyway let me know when you are free! Love ya
