Yeah! I made this loaf of bread! And three others just like it!!!
Some of you may say, "Yeah, so what? I do that every other day."
This was huge for me, because I have never, ever, in my life made a decent loaf of bread.
Today was my first! My past failed attempts were more like, let's see..flaky bricks? I was so proud of myself I already gave a loaf away.
Anyway, if you need a good recipe, I finally got one that works for me- it's J.J.'s recipe, you know the awesome gardener, canner, baker, piano teacher from Marysvale? And if you would like the recipe, I'll send it on! BTW, it helps to have a wheat grinder, Kitchenaid, dough enhancer, instant yeast, and a couple free hours!

Impressive! Um, I have never even attempted a loaf, so you are doing great! That is one thing I still have to learn. Sorry your girls couldn't hold Bailey on Halloween, they probably felt bad, she was just 3 days old and I guess we were being protective still. They can hold her soon!
Wow, that's awesome! Confession: I've never made a loaf of bread either, I can make a mean set of rolls, but--not the big guy! BTW-did you taste it? Was it yummy? Send me the recipe! THX!
Nice work! Here's MY confession: I haven't attempted yeast bread since we've been back in Utah: our house is always colder than most, and I'm just sure that my bread will never rise. Oh, and my Caly friend had a wheat grinder and was a pro, yeah, that helps too. Your bread looks great! What to go (:
Ladies: yes, the bread was yummy and with this recipe (and the instant yeast)- you get to raise it in the oven for about 30 min., then bake for 35 minutes! Can it get any better than that?? Sorry, I'm really excited about this, I'd given up hope that I could ever make a good loaf of bread!
I have to agree, all the little secrets really help. My mom uses potato water in her white bread. A tip for wheat bread... use wheat gluten & dough enhancer. Nice Job!
I am very impressed Heather! I wish you were still in dinner group!
