I know you all wanted to hear more about his birthday! And, apologies to all the cousins out there. I kept dragging my feet about organizing a real party and now I know why! Becca came home with a very high fever after we went swimming on Tommy's birthday. So, we'll just celebrate again next time we see you! Above is Tommy finding all his Marvel heroes that he's been dreaming about! Doc Ock, Incredible Hulk, Captain America, etc. Thanks to KSL.com we got a great deal!
I love this shot! We went to the wave pool in Layton and had so much fun! We found out that the pool near our home is private, so you need to buy a membership, and if you don't have that, it costs $8-$10 per person to swim there. I guess we'll be driving to the pool this summer! And, in case you didn't hear, John bought a cheap little work car for himself, so we're back in a vehicle! Yeah! Could things get any better?
Daddy doing his thing- flipping and throwing the girls in the water. They love it!
Birthday cake time! Isn't it fabulous? Thanks goes to Wal-mart bakery :-( My oven has a gas leak and so we've not been able to use it for about a week. John got this cake for Tommy and even bought a green tube of icing to write his name on it. What a great dad!

Those are great shots with your new camera, mom! I like that shot of Tommy just as much as you do!
Sounds like he had a great birthday!!
I have a good friend who has a son with Autism. I am sure she won't mind me giving you her number. If you need it. She knows a lot about the whole thing. I think she is part of a group. Let me know.
We will keep you and your WHOLE family in our thoughts and prayers!!
Looks like Tommy had a great birthday! Hope we can get together soon. Hope the testing goes well and that you can get some answers.
Love that picture of Tommy, he has grown up so fast! That is great you have a car to use again, that must have been hard :) I hope Tommy's testing goes well also. Love you guys!
It looks like a fun day. I am so sorry about the Autism Dx. I hate Autism. I really do. I worked in Early Intervention for a few years and loved the work. I saw so many parents who's 2 year olds suddenly changed before their eyes. The good news is, there is so much more out there that can be helpful. From what I have seen, the kids on my caseload respond far better to ABA, speech and OT over any diet restrictions. I am not of the camp that you can "cure" it, but there are many ways to manage it successfully. I think there was a school in SLC near the U? I was going to teach there once, but did the social work thing instead. Definitely call the Division of Services for People with Disabilities (that is who I used to work for) and get on the waiting list. They can offer some respite, which can help. The school should also be able to help.
I really like the book "The Child with Special Needs" by Stanley Greenspan. I like all of his books. I think they give parents real ways of helping their children. Anyway, good luck and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
